In recent years, not only cannabis leaves but also cannabis processed products in various forms such as oil and cookies have been distributed, and there is a growing need to analyze cannabis DNA in order to address this situation.
In collaboration with the National Research Institute of Police Science, this research has led to the successful development of a cannabis DNA detection system using nucleic acid chromatography.
Detection can be done with the naked eye and requires only a thermal cycler to operate.

　 “Kaneka Easy DNA Extraction Kit version 2 “ for the extraction of DNA from “cannabis leaves, buds, stems, roots, seeds, seeds, resins, and blends of cannabis leaves and tobacco” in 10 minutes. And then it makes possible to distinguish between Cannabinolic acid synthase gene drug-type and fiber-type cannabis by using “Kaneka Nucleic Acid Chromatography Cannabis grass DNA Detection Kit” which can detect cannabis DNA by multiplex PCR amplification. In addition, no non-specific reactions with any of the 60 samples other than cannabis grass were observed.
